The James River
Starting with the best first: River Downs has direct walking access to the mighty James River and Robious Landing Park where residents can enjoy boating, kayaking, fishing, crew, paddle boarding and swimming. Our community contains paved walking paths that lead directly to the well appointed Robious Landing Park where there are 5 plus miles of wooded walking trails that wind along the James River.
Robious Landing Park is also home to several well established crew rowing clubs.

Within a short 5 minute walk down Robious Road is historic 17th century Keswick Plantation, a registered Virginia Historic Landmark and Nationally Registered Historic Place. It is also home to the
James River Equestrian Center (JREC).
JREC consists of approximately 75 acres and three barns on the plantation. The first two barns on the property are the James River Riding School. The Boarding Barn is the last barn on the property, with a twenty-two stall boarding barn, two (2) lighted riding rings, and approximately 75 acres of turnout pasture.

Within walking distance from River Downs is Winterfield Place, home to the well renowned Wild Ginger Restaurant It also home to the famous Vino Market, a great place to pick up a boutique wine, grab some fresh meat, cheeses, and seafood or participate in weekly wine tasting from famous wineries around the world.
A short 10 minute drive over the James River on 288 lies the famous Short Pump Town Center where you can experience over 140 unique shops, restaurants and entertainment in an outdoor open air environment.
Travel 5-10 minutes east on Robious Road and you will find Chesterfield Town Center a convenient first class indoor mall.
North 10 - 15 minutes on Huguenot Road lies Stony Point Fashion Park, which offers a charming outdoor park-like atmosphere, beautiful fountains, and local architectural features.
